On Tumpaani FM’s Community Development show on Thursday 24th October, 2024 Hosted by Mwine Paschal, the Honorable Assembly member for Nadowli West Electoral Area who doubled as Area Council Chairman Hon Emmanuel Kuusani made a heartfelt appeal to Rt. Hon Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin. The plea is for assistance in completing the abundant market project for the Nadowli community.
The current market, a vital source of revenue for the District Assembly Initiated by former DCE Hon Wing Commander Eric Dakurah in 2008 under H. E former President John Agyekum Kufuor has stalled and become a safety hazard. The project’s incomplete structures now pose a significant risk to traders and shoppers.
Challenges Faced by Market Women includes
- Lack of shade forces market women to endure scorching sun or use basins as makeshift umbrellas during rain.
- Weak walls and incomplete structures create hazardous conditions.
- Traders now refuse to pay market tolls due to the Assembly’s inability to complete the market.
The community urgently needs a safe and functional market. The Honorable Assembly member’s appeal seeks to revitalize the stalled project, ensuring traders and shoppers have a conducive environment.
By supporting this initiative, the community can:
- Enhance trader safety and well-being.
- Boost local economy through improved market conditions.
- Strengthen community development.
He used the opportunity to make a clarion call on all stakeholders to join hands in ensuring that our market women and men have a safe and befitting market structures.

Below is a full vido of the uncompleted building of the market.
